Use Type EDL® Flashing with low profile roofing materials such as asphalt or fiberglass shingles, slates, cedar shingles/shakes and with roof pitches from 15° (3/12) to 85°. Model FS™ Skylight is shown for illustration purposes. For complete instructions, refer to the instruction sheets provided with the flashing kit.

1. POSITION SKYLIGHT ON ROOF
Position skylight in roof and attach each premounted bracket to roof with screws provided. Be sure to center the frame in the opening and check corners with framing square. Remove side frame covers and bottom overglass cover. Do not remove the glazing profile. Apply roofing underlayment, wrapping all four sides of the frame.

2. INSTALL ROOFING MATERIAL
Install the roofing material up to the bottom edge of the skylight frame. The sill flashing section must be placed between the underglass rubber gasket and bottom frame section to provide a watertight seal. Push corners of sill flashing tight against the frame. Nail the side pieces to the frame with the nails provided. Replace bottom overglass.

3. INSTALL THE STEP FLASHING PIECES
Interweave step flashing pieces with roofing material. Place step pieces tight against the frame and shingles (minimum 4” overlap). Bottom edge of step flashing piece should be flush with bottom edge of the shingle. Nail step flashing pieces to the frame with nails provided. (Do not nail to roof deck.)

4. REPLACE SIDE FRAME COVERS
Reattach side frame covers. Interlock the head flashing section with top cover. The head flashing must be placed under roofing felt to insure proper drainage. Attach with screws provided. Complete roofing above skylight cover.
